Instruction trace - for this assignment, you should simulate the first 25 instructions
C skeleton for the simulator. You should write the simulate() function inside it. It can make calls to a provided function get_next_instruction() that sequentially gets instructions from the trace. There is some sample code showing how to use get_next_instruction() to just print out all instructions. The trace file name and number of instructions to execute are command line parameters. The simulator function takes in the number of instructions to process as an argument.

Electronic submission instructions, use p5 as project name. Please submit your code, your output, and the readme file describing how to compile and use your program. If you did extra credit, describe what you did and show your results in the readme file.

C program template - implement your cache inside the simulate_cache function. Use the same compilation and running procedures as in the previous assignment.

ConTEXT - a simple text editor. To get syntax highlighting for MIPS assembly code, download MIPSAssembler.chl and put it in the Highlighters directory after you install ConTEXT.
nsPerl - A perl interpreter for Windows
jvm-assemble.pl - A perl script to help you convert hi-level JVM statements to hex bytecodes you can paste into a SPIM file data section.
