TRIAC, from triode for alternating current,
is a genericized tradename for an electronic component that can conduct current
in either direction when it is triggered (turned on), and is formally called a
bidirectional triode thyristor or bilateral triode thyristor. The DIAC is a
diode that conducts electrical current only after its breakover voltage, VBO,
has been reached momentarily. The term is an acronym of diode for alternating
current. This PDF book covers the following topics related to Diac and Triac :
TRIAC, Thyristor, DIAC, Silicon-controlled rectifier.
